Except that this is exactly the reasoning that the men putting forth this "theory" are using. Obviously, women aren't that important or they wouldn't be dying left and right in childbirth, even in the modern age, but it is the "reasoning" that the guys who buy into this theory put forth. It was clearly a rhetorical question.
