"I don't know the first thing about what I'm talking about, so I'll just lob credibility bombs and hope that acts as a sufficient deflection from the fact that I'm too defensive and clueless to speak intelligently on this topic." ~ You

Try reading this story about what men of different ages and socio-economic backgrounds from three different countries say about what is expected of them as "real" men; how it often harms them, and how they sometimes resist those expectations, and sometimes don't. Then try and tell me that these thousand men don't know anything about what actual masculinity is, and that these male researchers are just trying to foist some kind of feminist agenda on them. 🙄

Then read this — about how this male-led project that sifted through 40 years of research, most of it done by men — is again some kind of feminist propaganda.

“Though men benefit from patriarchy, they are also impinged upon by patriarchy,” says Ronald F. Levant, EdD, a professor emeritus of psychology at the University of Akron and co-editor of the APA volume “The Psychology of Men and Masculinities.” Levant was APA president in 2005 when the guideline-drafting process began and was instrumental in securing funding and support to get the process started.

Edit: It seems like men who don’t agree with you (and who are actual trained sociologists and psychologists who study this stuff for a living) don’t count as actual men in your book. A very mature and enlightened position, indeed…

Bye now, I’ve got better things to do.
