I hear this all the time from guys who say things like, "Well, man can be raped too" or "Men can be victims of domestic abuse too." They assert that all women want is to take men's money and that this somehow defangs assertions of an inequitable society. But the fact that there are women who harm men in the world, or women who manipulate or otherwise use men does not detract from the fact that both The WHO and the CDC consider violence against women to be at epidemic proportions. It doesn't erase the fact that many, many men still treat women as if they are on earth to make their lives nicer and to take care of them. It doesn't erase the pay gap, etc., etc. But there are plenty of men who float this "yeah, but" kind of deflection. I'm rather surprised you haven't seen it because I read it almost every day.
