I’ve never taken ayahuasca or any other plant medicine, but from what I understand, this same kind of dilution of the sacred elements and coopting of cultural rituals is taking place with ayahuasca, where people want the high and hope to have some healing but aren’t really committed to the full experience that might allow that in the context in which it was intended.
