She's never claimed to be a psychologist. She is trained as a sociologist, a cultural historian and a systems scientist and that is what her work reflects. Cultural transformation theory comes out of those disciplines and as already noted, she's not a crank like Peterson, she's the recognized world authority on this subject matter. I noticed the UN hasn't asked Pinker or Peterson to address them...

And actually, when Peterson speaks about psychology, he usually does fine. I'm assuming the same is true of Pinker since he teaches at Harvard. It's that he likes to give opinions on other things that he has no training or expertise in when the problems arise.

The question isn't "authority figures" the question is expertise. You haven't studied any of this in the same way, or in the same depth and yet you believe that you have the same level of expertise - even though you don't know enough about her work to be able to meaningfully critique it.

After you've read the book and better understand it, you are welcome to offer your opinions on Eisler or Fry.
