Some Flinstonizing the past and trying to pretend the 1950s were a manifestation of how humans have always lived. It's not remotely the case. For one thing, in current hunter-gatherer tribes, gatherers provide about 60-80% of the daily calories, and meat is a much smaller supplement to that (unless they live very far north). The nuclear family as we know it with only a mother, father, and their children was a common configuration from about 1950-until the end of the 1970s. In a tribe, the tribe all raises the children, not just the parents. You should read some of Elle Beau's stories on this - she's very knowledgeable.

And how do you explain the fact that in different cultures and at different time periods, what was considered the purview of men or of women changes if these are innate demeanors and competencies? For example, in some indigenous American tribes, weaving is done by men, but in others it is done by women. Who has the innate interest and demeanor for it then?

How do you explain the fact that once society stopped disallowing women into certain fields, they are now quite interested in them - such as woman astronauts and CEOs? Honestly, this sort of complimentarianism just doesn't hold water in the real world - now or in the past. It's tired, let it rest...
