The whole thing is a tempest in a tea cup because cis-women beat trans-women every single day of the week in sports from around the world. What you are describing is not an actual problem, and neither are the abuse allegations - which is probably why Neil Gaiman referred to it as nonsense. It makes no sense to obsess over issues that don't actually exist.
