There are plenty of male caregivers for the elderly and disabled, although most of them are men of color and immigrants. The rest of what you’ve said is just a cop out that pretty much affirms the point of the OP.

“Higher paying jobs have stress” — I don’t know anything more stressful than the unrelenting care of another human being.

“Higher paying jobs require innovation” — but caring for someone else just comes naturally and doesn’t really take much skill or thought? Guess again!

I think you need to go volunteer to spend a weekend with someone who needs your help to eat, bathe, have his diaper changed, who doesn’t sleep much, who is essentially dependent on you for nearly all aspects of their life. If you survive the weekend, you can then imagine doing that ad infinutum, and we can have this conversation again.
