What's going on in other countries (or in the past) is irrelevant to whether or not we have serious problems with patriarchy and with male-instigated violence in this country. That's not "mostly true" - it's entirely true. And I don't need to define patriarchy for you - don't be obtuse. You know perfectly well what I'm talking about.

Simon is a completely self-involved idiot who doesn't know anything about A) the lived experience of women and B) the academic body of work that is 50 years of feminism. To boot, he doesn't know anything about the history of effective advocacy in this country (or anywhere in the world, for that matter). Why on earth would I listen to someone like that? He's a shining example of Dunning-Kruger - someone who knows so little about the topic at hand that he doesn't even recognize how little knowledge he has. He spends no time talking to men about how to shift problematic masculine norms and co-create a healthier culture and nearly all of his time blaming feminism for not being more grateful to him for riding in like a fucking White Knight to tells us what's wrong with us. Pfft!!!
