Why is nuance such a lost commodity? Everyone would undoubtedly "prefer" to date movie stars, but that doesn't mean they aren't dating anyone unless they have that opportunity. Women want to date someone who is their equal, who isn't looking for a Mommy surrogate, or to mooch off of them. If fully half of women today earn the same or more than their male partners (as is the case), clearly that's not an impediment to relationships. Women aren't leaving the dating scene in droves because their aren't enough rich guys to date, they are leaving because most men are entitled assholes who expect them to act as a sex-dispensing sidekick to them, and women aren't having it - they'd rather be alone.

In addition, the manosphere is not a community of poorer guys who can't find love because women only want rich guys (lots of poorer guys have mates), it's a community of mostly violent misogynists (with a lot of racist overtones) who hate the fact that white men are losing their unearned place as default citizens in this country and they are throwing a hissy fit about it, and acting as marks for predatory men who want to capitalize on that tantrum and make $$ off them.
