Yes they do, all of the time. Every single male social worker or teacher I've ever known was married. Making unsupported stupid statements like this is par for the course from a lot of guys, but it doesn't make it true. Men get stressed out if their wives are making any more than 40% of the combined income. They are a lot more invested in being "the provider" than most women are.
